Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability, and may cause those that have it to behave, communicate, interact, and learn in ways that are different from other individuals. According to the data presented by the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network, "CDC estimates that about 1 in 44 8-year-old children have been identified with ASD" (Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network, 2022).
However, there has been recent studies demonstrating hyperbaric therapy as an effective treatment to help ameliorate the effects of autism. This treatment is non-invasive and simple, making it an ideal choice for parents and physicians both.
The International Hyperbarics Association lists these as demonstrated benefits of HBOT for ASD:

Increases oxygen delivery to hypoxic tissues
Reduces neuroinflammation
Moderates mitochondria dysfunction
Promotes neurogenesis
Stimulates stem cell proliferation & mobilization
Reduces seizure frequency
Actuates neuroplasticity
